The Guidebook of Forts project was a big project for me. Its now over 4 years from the time I started collecting the information about all the forts in and around Maharashtra. When I looked at the information available, all the text is available in Marathi with a few exceptions. Many of my fellow trekkers are blogging their trek reports which provide a great deal of information about forts that they have visited. But there is no one place to look for information regarding forts. Websites like Trekshitiz.com have been an inspiration for me. Most of the sources available provide information about how to reach the fort. But fail to provide historical significance of the fort.
I hope to provide the correct information about forts that I have visited or have collected information from online sources, translated information from Marathi to English to make it accessible to all. I hope there will be as few mistakes as possible. If found any, please let me know and I will be happy to correct them.
